Austin McDaniel spent over a decade building security products from the inside — as an engineer at Google, Mastercard, RSA, and the Department of Defense, then as a founding engineer at Swimlane, a software architect at Sevco Security and Sumo Logic, and co-founder of CRFT, later acquired by Flashpoint. He holds four cybersecurity patents. By 2022 he'd watched the same problem repeat: security companies with real products couldn't find design and engineering partners who understood the domain. So he built the team he kept wishing existed. The specialization wasn't a marketing angle. It was the whole point.
